Wayan brought us for dinner at their 'Pasar Malam' to try the Babi Guling. One of the reason why he brought us there because we requested him to bring us to places where their locals go to. It was Wayan's first time to that particular 'Pasar Malam' too.
So I had my very first Babi Guling. All of us were pretty excited because...just look at that babi! It's huge and shiny!
It cost about 2Million rp. to buy the whole pig, according to the lady boss. It's expensive! According to the lady, they do not keep it overnight if there are left overs, they make new ones the next day.
The Babi Guling that the locals eat is like the mixed rice version.
Didn't quite enjoyed it, it looks kinda disgusting to me, that she dug her hand into the pigs stomach and pull out whatever she can from it and serve it to us. So basically, we have no idea which part of the pig we are actually eating. Aside from that, there were flies everywhere...one of the thing I hate most while I'm eating.
The next thing we tried was Mee Bakso!
It's written ayam, which also means chicken, but it's actually beef. I have no idea why.
It's like the fish ball noodle, but for this you can add your own amount of chili, dark sauce and oil.
It's really good, love it!
A must try, I must say!
The sky is dark, but guess what, it was only 5.30pm when we took this picture!
